50,000 reasons for KidsAid to celebrate this Christmas
KidsAid is celebrating today after being awardeded £50,000 from a charity event held to mark the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Around US million was raised on 12th September 2011 at a charity day held in by BGC in Canary Wharf, which was attended by Prince Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and a host of celebrities including Duffy and One Direction.
BGC is a successor company to Cantor Fitzgerald who lost 658 staff in the North Tower of the Twin Towers in 2001 and each year raises money for charities.
The Chair of KidsAid Board of Trustees, David Mackintosh, said, “This is a brilliant Christmas present for KidsAid and will really help us to help and support local children and families. We are very grateful to Prince Harry and all of the celebrity supporters for giving up their time in September and for raising such a large amount of money for us.”
Celebrity supporter of KidsAid, Natalie Pinkham, who hosted the event for BGC, said, “This is fantastic news for KidsAid. The day in September was a pleasure to take part in and I’m pleased a great local charity like KidsAid will benefit.”
